Writing her first song at the ripe age of 12 and singing with her "sister-like" cousin, Laura J's ability was over shadowed and often overlooked. But Laura has now revealed that which God had hidden for a short time and is burning with the passion of music that has been brewing in her soul.
Laura J stood strong as a finalist on KSat 12 "Gimme the Mike" and has taken that experience as one that was great and one that she will never forget.
Reaching for an exceeding platform to deliver a message of encouragement, change, reflection, even hardship and joy, Laura J has what it takes to make a difference in music and she will not stop until she gets to where she is going. This music will make you dance, laugh, cry and most of all make you feel again. Her ability to move a live crowd and abducting them into her world is only a small part of what to expect from this woman. She is a genuine breath of fresh air.
One thing is for sure, there is nobody doing it like Laura J. And that's all we can say about that.
Laura J released her debut EP Single titled "Freedom" in 2007 (Available on Itunes and Amazon.com) and is currently finishing the full legnth project due this SUMMER of 2008. |

I listen to a lot of different types of music. One genre of music that has influenced
me a great deal is 60''s era folk music such as Leonard Cohen, Woody Guthrie, The
Byrds, Country Joe & the Fish, Nick Drake, etc... attempting to keep true to the
sound, tradition, and feeling of the genre, I have recored many acoustic guitar-based
songs in singer/songwriter fashion. My music here will try to maintain a sound that
is heart felt and honest not relying on production trickery and various trends/gimmicks,
and flashey sound effects. I hope you enjoy the songs i have created and share them
with friends and family.
